TPI DC580 Anemometer
The TPI DC580 Anemometer is a smart air flow meter that can measure velocity through the supplied hot-wire and vane probes. The hotwire probe will measure air flow velocity from 0.2m/s to 20m/s with 0.01m/s resolution and accuracy of ±5%. The vane probe, meanwhile, will measure air flow speed from 0.4m/s to 25m/s with ±2% accuracy. It is also possible to measure air temperature from -20˚C to 60˚C and calculate volume flow using the anemometer.
The TPI DC508 has a backlit digital screen which can display up to two parameters concurrently in the user’s preferred units. The anemometer offers minimum, maximum and average value recording whilst data hold will freeze the current value on screen. The navigation and function buttons make operation very straightforward. Up to 300 results can be saved to the anemometer’s internal memory.
Bluetooth connectivity allows the TPI DC580 to communicate wirelessly with the TPI DC580 App. This app can download saved results from the anemometer to a smart device’s internal memory. Other functions include volume flow calculation when the area of a ventilation outlet is entered and the user can even send results in an e-mail attachment to the client’s e-mail address. It is also possible to save information under a particular customer’s details.
The vane and hotwire probes are easily interchangeable and the TPI DC580 can measure air flow and temperature simultaneously. Integrated magnets allow the anemometer to fixed to a metal surface and protection is provided by the tough rubber casing. Battery life depends on the application but is at least 30 hours and the anemometer is an ideal choice for HVAC inspections, air duct analysis, fume hood inspections, and assessment of floor registers and exhaust grills.
